I’ve spent two decades as a consultant for Fortune 500s and large nonprofits—the person who could walk into a room full of smart people talking past each other and draw the one diagram that made everyone say “oh, that’s what we’re trying to do.” I’ve taught this work at universities and professional conferences, built frameworks that teams still use, and I’ve led and mentored consultants who went on to do the same.
But the skill that made me valuable in those rooms—seeing what people are too close to see, making the invisible visible, sensing misalignment before it derails everything—isn’t just useful for organizations.
